In a bid to rejuvenate stalled negotiations, the foreign ministers of Egypt and Pakistan have opened diplomatic channels aimed at initiating new talks between the United States and Iran.
Egypt's Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty, engaged in a telephonic conversation with his Pakistani counterpart, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, late on Friday, underscoring the importance of diplomacy as the main tool for resolving international disputes.
The Egyptian foreign ministry has stated that both diplomats reaffirmed their commitment to seeing through negotiations, rather than conflict, as the preferred method for ending ongoing strife.
