BJP leader R Ashoka endorsed the Election Commission's notice to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, following his inflammatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Ashoka demands Kharge's removal, citing the comments as illegal and strategic during the Tamil Nadu election campaign.
Amidst BJP-led protests at the Vidhana Soudha, Ashoka condemned Kharge's statements that suggested the Congress President's desperation for higher political positions. He characterized Kharge's comments as disgraceful and damaging to the Congress Party's image, asserting it as a tactic to curry favor for roles at the state or central level.
Kharge attempted to clarify his words, stating he meant Modi is terrorizing political adversaries, not branding him as a terrorist. However, the BJP submitted a strong complaint to the Election Commission and reinforced their demand for Kharge's apology and resignation.
