Tragedy in Southern Lebanon: Journalist's Fatal Encounter

In a somber development, the lifeless body of Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil was extracted from the debris following an Israeli airstrike on southern Lebanon. The attack occurred on Wednesday in the village of al-Tiri, where Khalil was on assignment.
The Al-Akhbar newspaper and Information Minister Paul Morcos confirmed Khalil's death, highlighting her critical reporting on the Israel-Hezbollah war since its inception in October 2023.
Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has made an urgent appeal to the international community, urging them to exert pressure on the Israeli military to permit the extraction of Khalil from the ravaged site.
