Gujarat CM Criticizes Congress Over Women’s Reservation Bill Opposition

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Sunday accused the Congress and its allies of sabotaging the Women's Reservation Bill, claiming it was a move that revealed their 'double-faced politics' and dynastic obsession. Speaking at Gandhinagar, Patel criticized the Opposition for allegedly undermining women's empowerment.

Patel argued that by opposing the Bill, which seeks to provide 33% reservation for women in Lok Sabha and assemblies, Congress had deprived women of significant opportunities for political representation. He maintained that for decades, Congress engaged in 'negative politics' to prevent the equal participation of women.

Union Minister Raksha Khadse emphasized the Bill aimed to empower women across the nation, irrespective of political affiliations. Khadse accused Congress of using women as a mere votebank, urging the public to hold the party accountable for their alleged double standards.
