The Rashtrapati Bhavan announced that there will be no Change of Guard ceremony on April 18 due to preparations for an incoming diplomatic visit. The ceremony, a longstanding military tradition, is postponed to accommodate the upcoming state welcome for President Lee Jae Myung of South Korea.
In an official statement, it was specified that the ceremony scheduled for Saturday at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan will not be held. The reason cited was the rehearsal for a ceremonial reception in anticipation of President Lee's three-day visit starting Sunday.
President Lee's visit hopes to enhance cooperative arrangements in trade, defence, and critical technologies, against the backdrop of increasing global geopolitical tensions. The engagement underscores the importance of diplomatic dialogue in fostering international partnerships.
