The incident, which resulted in the death of Rashid Ahmad Mughal, classified by the army as a terrorist, spurred debates about its authenticity.

His family, however, insists on Mughal's innocence and demanded the return of his body for a proper burial, denouncing the encounter as fake. The demand for a judicial probe was backed by MLAs across party lines, excluding the BJP, highlighting the need for justice and transparency.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has initiated a magisterial probe, with a report expected within a week. Amid concerns of undermined justice, calls for accountability, and transparency, tensions in the assembly emphasize the sensitivity and urgency of the issue, reflecting broader concerns over democratic rights.
