A suspect has been detained after Congress MP Shashi Tharoor's gunman and driver were allegedly attacked by a group of five individuals in Wandoor, police reported on Saturday.
According to police in Wandoor, action was taken after a case was filed following a complaint by Tharoor's gunman, Ratheesh K P. The altercation took place at Chellithode near Thiruvali on Friday evening.
The alleged attack occurred during a traffic bottleneck, as Tharoor’s convoy headed to an election campaign for Congress leader A P Anilkumar. Law enforcement has identified and aims to apprehend the remaining suspects soon.
