In a strategic political maneuver, the BJP's Odisha unit is set to manage campaign activities in 36 assembly constituencies in West Bengal ahead of the upcoming elections. This cross-border initiative underscores the party's determination to make significant inroads in the eastern state.
According to Manmohan Samal, the recently elected BJP chief and Rajya Sabha member from Odisha, the focus is predominantly on Odia-speaking regions. The state unit has meticulously prepared a campaign roadmap, targeting six key southern districts to bolster their presence.
Key BJP figures including MLAs, MPs, and ministers are actively engaging in the campaign, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi championing the 'double-engine' government concept while addressing rallies. The BJP currently holds significant influence in Odisha's northern districts, owning 18 out of 28 assembly seats.
