Kim Jong Un's sister has dismissed any possibility of direct talks between the North Korean leader and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, according to a report by the KCNA state news agency.
During a discussion with U.S. President Donald Trump, Takaichi reportedly broached the subject of North Korea, as confirmed by Japan's foreign ministry. Despite this, Pyongyang appears unyielding in its stance against dialogue.
Media outlets in South Korea and Hong Kong have speculated that Takaichi expressed interest in meeting Kim Jong Un personally, but such overtures seem to be currently ignored by the North Korean regime.
