Mamata's Masterstroke: 2026 TMC Manifesto Focused on Key Communities

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has unveiled its 2026 poll manifesto, targeting crucial voter segments to thwart the BJP's challenge in West Bengal. Chief among these are women, minorities, and Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) communities, which have been pivotal in sustaining Mamata Banerjee’s political reign over the past 15 years.

Central to the TMC's strategy is an expansion of the highly successful Lakshmir Bhandar scheme, with a monthly assistance increase to Rs 1,700 for SC/ST women. The initiative aims to fortify the party's connection with female voters, who represent nearly half of the state's electorate, and have consistently backed Banerjee.

Additionally, the manifesto prioritizes minority outreach by promising to protect Waqf properties and improve educational opportunities in minority-concentrated districts. With focused efforts on SC/ST empowerment and employment enhancements, the TMC seeks to consolidate its support base ahead of the 2026 elections.
