Pakistan Defends Missile Program Amid U.S. Concerns

Pakistan has firmly rejected concerns raised by U.S. intelligence about its missile program, emphasizing that its capabilities serve exclusively defensive purposes. Pakistan's Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi stated that their strategic assets are intended to preserve national security and uphold peace in South Asia.

The spokesperson criticized India's missile development, which reportedly extends beyond regional needs, calling it a worrying trend. Pakistan's arsenal, he claimed, remains a mere deterrence against regional threats and within a credible minimum deterrence framework.

Pakistan urged the United States to adopt a more balanced stance that respects the strategic requirements of South Asia. The country also condemned unfounded remarks by diplomatic representatives on various geopolitical issues, reinforcing its commitment to upholding international law.
