AIADMK MP C Ve Shanmugam sparked outrage on Tuesday with comments deemed derogatory towards actress Nayanthara while dismissing Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin's 'Tell us your dream' initiative.
During a protest against the DMK government in Villupuram, around 150 kilometers from the state capital, Shanmugam mocked the initiative by questioning if Stalin could fulfill dreams involving actress Nayanthara.
The remarks swiftly attracted criticism from multiple sectors, adding fuel to political tensions in the region and triggering widespread debate over respect and propriety.
