India Challenges Pakistan's Islamophobia Narratives at UN

India has vociferously called out Pakistan for its alleged penchant for creating "imaginary tales" of Islamophobia in its neighboring regions, suggesting that Pakistan's actions against religious communities within its own borders betray its claims. India's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, delivered a sharp critique at a UN General Assembly session.

Ambassador Harish, addressing the International Day to Combat Islamophobia, remarked on Pakistan's efforts to portray India negatively through alleged false claims via the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. He accentuated India's harmonious multicultural milieu, which includes a substantial Muslim demographic that thrives in an environment of coexistence.

Highlighting India's secular foundations and historic commitment to religious tolerance, Harish urged the United Nations to maintain impartiality and caution against frameworks centered on a singular faith. He reiterated India's dedication to eradicating religious hate across the globe and fostering inclusive societies anchored in law and equality.
