In a call for international assistance, US President Donald Trump demanded that around seven nations dispatch warships to ensure the security of the Strait of Hormuz. This response comes as threatening activities by Iran have severely disrupted shipping in the critical maritime passage, stirring fears of a worldwide energy crisis.
Iran's continued aggression, which includes attacks on commercial vessels, has prompted the US and Israel to strike what they describe as military targets within Iran and ramp up actions against Iranian-backed militants in Lebanon. The conflict has displaced over 1 million individuals in Lebanon and is causing significant regional instability.
In Iraq, pro-Iran militia Saraya Awliya al-Dam released drone footage targeting the US Embassy in Baghdad. The imagery did not reveal an attack, but it highlights the ongoing drone warfare in the region. Meanwhile, the British military reported a tanker was hit off the UAE coast, continuing the perilous climate in the Gulf.
