External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held a critical dialogue with Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Thursday night. This was their fourth conversation since the West Asia crisis erupted.
The discussions focused on securing the passage of 28 Indian merchant vessels navigating the tense waters of the Strait of Hormuz, impacted by the US-Israel conflict with Iran. Bilateral relations and BRICS' role in regional stability were also pivotal topics.
Araghchi expressed concerns over US-Israel military actions and emphasized Iran's intent on self-defense. He urged international bodies to condemn aggression and highlighted BRICS' potential in stabilizing the region.
