Poland Navigates EU Defence Funding Amid Presidential Veto

Poland's government is set to advance with a resolution allowing spending from the European Union's 'SAFE' defence financing programme, despite a presidential veto on the bill originally intended to establish a mechanism for fund distribution, Prime Minister Donald Tusk confirmed on Friday.

The decision stems from a need to secure vital defence financing, bypassing the hurdles presented by the veto. Prime Minister Tusk, during an address to ministers, emphasized the urgency of concluding the Polish Armed Forces programme through governmental resolution.
