Kerala's Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, on Sunday, sharply criticized the Indian government's silence regarding the US-Israel attack on Iran, accusing it of bringing 'disrepute' to India. In his address at an anti-war meeting organized by the Left Democratic Front (LDF), Vijayan remarked on India's historical stance against imperialism.

Vijayan underscored that Iran had been a steadfast ally during challenging times for India and questioned why the nation could not condemn an attack on such a supportive country. He pointed out Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to Israel and how Modi's embrace of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu projected a potentially misleading global message.

The Chief Minister argued that PM Modi and his government’s reluctance to denounce the attack aligned with a US agenda to control global oil resources. Vijayan warned that ongoing tensions might escalate and severely impact the global economy, as anxiety continued to rise worldwide due to US and Israeli actions.
