In a fervent speech, Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal rallied against the ruling BJP government in Gujarat, accusing it of ignoring farmers' needs and using intimidation tactics. Speaking at the 'Parivartan Lao, Kisan Bachao' rally, Kejriwal asserted the government has failed to provide irrigation and fair crop prices.
Kejriwal, a former chief minister of Delhi, recounted his own experience of being jailed for opposing corruption. Despite his exoneration in the Delhi excise policy case, Kejriwal claims BJP retains power by suppressing dissent. He urged farmers to challenge this status quo, suggesting the 2027 elections as an opportunity for systemic change.
The AAP leader cited his governance in Delhi, where public services were enhanced, and in Punjab, where welfare schemes were implemented. He envisions a 'multiple engine' government—incorporating farmers, women, and youth—that reflects the desires of all six crore Gujaratis, diverging from BJP's longstanding rule.
