On Sunday, the Jammu and Kashmir Congress organized a demonstration to protest the recent hike in LPG prices, a move the party condemned as 'anti-poor.'
Led by PCC president Tariq Hamid Karra and working president Raman Bhalla, the protesters argued that this government decision would further burden the common man financially. Gathered in Model Town, Digiana, they also voiced disapproval of the Indo-US trade deal.
The price of domestic LPG surged by Rs 60 per cylinder, marking the second increase in less than a year. This development comes against the backdrop of escalating global energy rates. Protesters demand a rollback of the hike and greater transparency in international agreements affecting the nation.
