The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jharkhand celebrated a significant victory as its candidates secured major wins in the state's urban local body (ULB) elections. The polls, conducted on February 23 and decided by the end of the month, saw BJP-backed candidates clinching numerous key civic positions.

The felicitation ceremony on Sunday was presided over by state BJP president Aditya Sahu and witnessed the presence of notable figures like BJP national general secretary Arun Singh, Union minister Sanjay Seth, and former Chief Minister Arjun Munda. The BJP emerged as the largest party in these non-symbolic polls, according to Singh, indicating a strong endorsement of their platform.

Arun Singh asserted that if the elections had been contested under official party symbols, the BJP would have achieved an even more overwhelming victory over the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-Congress coalition. Sahu further criticized the current state's governance for its alleged failure to promote development, contrasting it with the BJP's commitment to the needs of the marginalized.
