Russia has reportedly shared critical information with Iran, assisting Tehran in potentially targeting American warships, aircraft, and other strategic assets in the region. This information, according to U.S. intelligence sources, marks the first indication of Russia's involvement in the conflict initiated by the U.S. and Israel against Iran.
The unusual alliance between Russia and Iran has been scrutinized as Moscow seeks to maintain its diplomatic ties with Tehran amidst global isolation over Iran's nuclear ambitions. While the White House attempted to downplay the situation, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt indicated that the intelligence shared has not affected military operations in Iran.
Despite escalating tensions, Russian officials, including Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, have denied any military collaboration with Iran beyond political dialogue. Russia’s relationship with Iran has strengthened, especially following the mutual support with military assets in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, as revealed by declassified U.S. intelligence.
