Lok Sabha MP and notable Shia leader Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi claimed on Tuesday that his security detail has been downgraded. Undeterred, Mehdi stated he would continue to highlight the "atrocities against people," emphasizing his commitment to exercising his constitutional rights.
Mehdi dismissed concerns over the security downgrade, expressing neither fascination with "these petty things" nor fear of reduced protection. He emphasized, "As a citizen, I will stand up against atrocities and violations, to my last breath."
In solidarity, former Srinagar mayor Junaid Azim Mattu also reported his security had been withdrawn following his contentious remarks on Iran and Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Mattu criticized the BJP-led government's silence and reiterated his resolve to voice his opinion against perceived injustices.
