Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah emphasized the state's diligent efforts to ensure the safety of Kannadigas amidst the escalating Middle East conflict. He highlighted ongoing consultations with the Resident Commissioner in New Delhi and directions given to officials to proactively shield the state's residents.
In response to the US-Israel military offensive against Iran, which has prompted retaliatory strikes and increased regional tensions, Siddaramaiah outlined plans to establish a helpline. Kannadigas in affected areas are advised to relocate to safer regions as airspaces close.
The situation involves significant coordination between Indian missions in various Middle Eastern locations, urging caution and providing contact details for assistance. Former minister B Nagendra reported 32 individuals from Ballari are currently stranded in Dubai, prompting additional security measures.
