The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) raised questions on Monday regarding the intention behind Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates' visit to Andhra Pradesh. The party alleged that the state government, led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, was more focused on generating publicity than addressing urgent issues in welfare hostels.
YSRCP spokesperson TJR Sudhakar Babu criticized the state government for showcasing television visuals and graphic presentations of the proposed capital city's infrastructure, which includes iconic designs, without any significant progress. The party demanded that the government stick to its deadlines for constructing these facilities.
The YSRCP also highlighted negligence in the welfare sector, detailing complaints of student illness in hostels due to poor food quality. Sudhakar Babu claimed that Bill Gates' visit seems to distract from governance failures and called for increased transparency by urging state leaders and Gates to partake in the students’ meals.
