As the Kerala Assembly Elections 2026 approach, Congress leader Sachin Pilot voiced strong confidence that the state's ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) will be ousted by the United Democratic Front (UDF). Speaking to ANI, Pilot emphasized the Congress party's readiness and determination to secure a full majority with public support.
Parallelly, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor criticized the CPI(M)-led LDF government's economic strategies, labeling a change of government as 'absolutely indispensable'. Tharoor highlighted the new budget's reliance on non-guaranteed funds and criticized the Centre's indifference towards Kerala.
Tharoor argued that voters are caught in a fiscal trap due to issues from both the Centre and state levels. Proposing a fresh economic vision, he stressed the need for creating new revenue sources through improved business conditions. The elections are slated for April-May 2026.
