Kerala's Vision 2031: Charting a Decade of Development and Democracy

Kerala's Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, is set to open the Vision 2031 International Conference on Development and Democracy on February 15. With an expected attendance of over 3,500 delegates and more than 150 speakers, the three-day event promises to be a crucial platform for evaluating and strategizing the state's future.

The conference stems from the LDF government's Vision 2031 initiative, which aims to consolidate Kerala's rapid economic developments and address new challenges with innovative policies. Kerala's economic growth during 2016-2026 has been labeled as unprecedented by the Chief Minister, despite financial limitations set by the central government.

Among the esteemed figures attending are Nobel laureate Amartya Sen and historian Romila Thapar. Discussions will highlight Kerala's commendable performance in national indices, as well as underline the importance of decentralized governance and people's participation in policy-making.
