Farooq Abdullah, the president of the National Conference (NC), has expressed profound grief over the deaths of two esteemed party leaders and former ministers, Qamar Ali Akhoon and Peerzada Ghulam Ahmad Shah.

In separate messages, Abdullah recalled Akhoon as a devoted colleague and a strong pillar of the party who remained deeply committed to the people of Kargil. He remarked that Akhoon's passing signifies the end of an era but praised his dedication to the party's ideals.

Reflecting on Shah's demise, Abdullah expressed deep sadness and described him as a loyal and dedicated public representative. Several senior party leaders have also offered their condolences to the bereaved families, highlighting the leaders' legacies of service.
