A brutal drone attack in central Sudan by the Rapid Support Forces has resulted in the deaths of at least 24 people, including eight children, according to the Sudan Doctors Network. The attack targeted a vehicle transporting displaced families near Rahad in North Kordofan province.
This tragic incident follows an attack on a World Food Program convoy in the same area, which killed one and injured several others. The convoy was delivering essential food supplies to those displaced in the city of Obeid, but the aid was destroyed. UN humanitarian coordinator Denise Brown condemned the violence, which undermines relief efforts.
Calls for accountability have intensified, as international organizations and diplomatic figures demand action against this blatant violation of humanitarian laws. With over 40,000 dead and millions displaced, Sudan remains embroiled in a devastating conflict exacerbating humanitarian crises across the region.
