Sandeep Kumar Pathak from the Aam Aadmi Party critiqued the expedited revision of electoral rolls during a Rajya Sabha session, labeling it as practically unattainable. He accused the government of institutional misuse including bodies like the Central Bureau of Investigation and Election Commission.
Addressing the debate on the President's Address, Pathak emphasized that although there is no opposition to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), the accelerated timeline is impractical. The process, meant to span several years, is being compressed into months, he argued.
Furthermore, K R Suresh Reddy from Bharat Rashtra Samithi called on Prime Minister Modi to intervene in resolving inter-state river disputes, noting that political will and convergence are vital. Current tribunals and specific authorities are ineffective, Reddy claimed, stalling economic growth as water resources remain a pivotal concern for half of the Indian population.
