BRS Demands Probe into ₹2,500 Crore Contracts Awarded to Controversial KLSR Infratech

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has called for an urgent investigation into the Telangana government's decision to award contracts worth ₹2,500 crore to KLSR Infratech, a company previously identified as a shell entity by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in 2018. BRS spokesperson Manne Krishank voiced these concerns amidst allegations of financial misconduct.

In an interview with ANI, Krishank alleged undue judicial influence favoring KLSR Infratech. He cited an incident involving NCLAT member Justice Sharad Kumar, who recused himself from a case concerning the company after reportedly facing pressure to rule in its favor. The remarks cast a spotlight on conflicts surrounding the firm, already embroiled in bankruptcy proceedings.

Accusations by KTR, BRS Working President, point to the awarding of substantial public contracts to KLSR Infratech during ongoing insolvency cases. Amid claims that the firm serves as a benami company for Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the BRS has called for contract cancellations and a CBI-led investigation. The Supreme Court's directive for a comprehensive CBI, ED, and SFIO probe underscores the gravity of the situation.
