Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri, General Secretary of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) and former Member of the Legislative Assembly, passed away on Tuesday at 72, following long-standing health issues related to his kidneys.

Quadri's political career began in 1986 as a Corporator in the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad, representing the Dabeerpura Ward. His influence grew as he was elected to the Charminar Assembly Constituency in 2004, 2009, and 2014, later serving the Yakutpura area in 2018.

Renowned for his discipline and commitment, Quadri was instrumental in fortifying AIMIM's foundation, working across generations of the Owaisi family. His legacy includes a deep engagement with grassroots leadership. Quadri leaves behind a son and two daughters, with funeral services planned for Wednesday.
