Gudivada Amarnath, a former minister and leader of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), has accused the Telugu Desam Party (TDP)-led coalition of orchestrating violence to distract from land grab allegations involving the family of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. According to Amarnath, the land in question is in Visakhapatnam and is valued at Rs 5,000 crore.

Addressing the media, Amarnath claimed that a relative of the Chief Minister is illegally occupying 44 acres of government land. While the value is pegged at Rs 5,000 crore by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, attempts are allegedly being made to undervalue it to Rs 1,000 crore. The land is not a 'private estate' to be manipulated, Amarnath said.

He specifically cited the GITAM University land deal as an example of misconduct. The university received 71 acres of government land for Rs 18,000 per acre in 1998, but has allegedly not provided any free seats to poor or meritorious students despite benefiting from public assets. Amarnath warned that opposition to the coalition will not be silenced, pledging to bring the issues to the appropriate forums for further action.
