Union Minister Criticizes DMK's Opposition to Electoral Roll Revision

Union Minister L Murugan criticized the DMK government on Monday, alleging its opposition to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) was a tactic to divert public focus from recent corruption charges, including a cash-for-job scam.

Murugan condemned the DMK for orchestrating a political 'drama' against the SIR through an all-party meeting. Highlighting claims by MDMK chief Vaiko of 75 lakh counterfeit votes, he questioned the feasibility of conducting elections under such conditions and emphasized the necessity of revising electoral rolls.

Calling upon all political entities to support the Election Commission's SIR, Murugan, the Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, insisted that genuine voters must be recognized while fraudulent entries should be eliminated from the lists. He questioned the DMK's trust in state employees as Tamil Nadu officials would oversee the revision, refuting allegations of bias against minority voters.
