Baba Ramdev, a prominent Yoga Guru and co-founder of Patanjali Ayurved, has sharply criticized Congress for its recent calls to ban the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Ramdev alleged that such demands are driven by 'anti-India forces' opposed to the nation's Hindu cultural ethos.

Ramdev's comments came after Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge compared the RSS's ideology to 'poison' and endorsed a ban. Ramdev defended the RSS, asserting its long-standing commitment to nationalism and accusing Congress of targeting the RSS because they are unable to directly challenge the BJP and its leaders.

In response to Congress' accusations, RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale highlighted the organization's public acceptance and role in nation-building. The discussions around an RSS ban are not new; the organization has faced bans in the past, notably post-Gandhi assassination and during India's Emergency period.
