In a significant development, military leaders from Pakistan and Bangladesh have reached an agreement to strengthen their defence cooperation. The announcement was made during an official visit to Bangladesh by Pakistan's Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Chairman, Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza.
Gen Mirza met with Bangladesh Army chief Gen Waker-Uz-Zaman at the Army Headquarters in Dhaka. The two leaders reaffirmed the positive trajectory of expanding military relations and underscored the importance of maintaining regular exchanges at various levels of military leadership.
Their discussions also covered critical areas such as training, joint exercises, and counter-terrorism efforts. Additionally, both sides expressed concern over the challenges posed by disinformation campaigns and stressed the necessity of increased cooperation to address these evolving threats.
