The Shiv Sena has issued a directive to its current and former office-bearers, instructing them not to leave their areas of jurisdiction as local body elections approach in Maharashtra.
According to Sanjay More, Shiv Sena's secretary, the order comes directly from party president and state Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The directive emphasizes that any departure from jurisdictions should only occur under unavoidable circumstances, with prior notification to the central office.
The move targets strengthening the party's grassroots units, called 'shakha pramukhs,' for local elections, including those in major metro areas like Mumbai and Pune, which have been pending for over three years.
