Pardoned Jan. 6 Rioter Charged with Threatening Hakeem Jeffries

Christopher Moynihan, previously pardoned for his role in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, faces new charges for threatening to assassinate Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries, according to court documents.

Moynihan allegedly sent alarming text messages prior to Jeffries' scheduled appearance in New York City, calling for his death and referring to Jeffries as a 'terrorist.'

While many rioters faced further legal issues, Moynihan stands alone in being charged with threatening an elected official post-pardon.
