The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has unveiled a memorial dedicated to its 25 personnel who lost their lives in a 2017 Maoist ambush in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district. The tribute honors their sacrifices for the state's security and development, marking a significant chapter in Chhattisgarh's fight against insurgency.

The memorial, situated at the CRPF's 74th battalion headquarters at Dornapal, was officially opened with solemn ceremonies. DIG Anand Rajpurohit, who led the inauguration, highlighted how the ultimate sacrifices made by these jawans played a crucial role in freeing the state from Naxal influence.

This initiative serves not only as a tribute but as a reminder of the courage and dedication to future generations. Chhattisgarh, especially the Bastar region, has been declared free from armed Maoists. A similar tribute was also inaugurated for the 76 personnel killed in the 2010 Tadmetla ambush.
