BJP Announces Key Candidates for Delhi Municipal Elections
The BJP has revealed its candidates for mayor, deputy mayor, and standing committee posts in Delhi's Municipal Corporation. The BJP has officially announced its nominees for the posts of mayor, deputy mayor, and standing committee members in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. The candidates, revealed on Thursday, include Rohini’s Pravesh Wahi for mayor, Monika Pant for deputy mayor, and Jai Bhagwan Yadav for standing committee member.
According to a statement by the party's Delhi unit, these candidates come from diverse wards. Wahi represents Rohini (Ward 53-E) and is anticipated to win unopposed. Pant hails from Anand Vihar (Ward 206), Yadav from Begumpur (Ward 27), and Manish Chaddha from Paharganj (Ward 82). The nominations were decided under the guidance of the party's national leaders.
With civic concerns such as sanitation and infrastructure at the forefront, the elections are set for April 29. The electoral college includes 273 votes, comprising councillors, MLAs, and MPs, with 137 votes needed for a victory. The party leaders emphasize that the nominees' local ties and experience make them appealing choices for the city’s residents.
