Gates Foundation's Epstein Entanglement: A Philanthropic Paradox

The Gates Foundation has launched an external review of its past engagements with the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the organization announced on Tuesday.

Bill Gates, the foundation's chairman, is under scrutiny following the release of emails by the U.S. Justice Department revealing communication between Epstein and the foundation. Gates has since expressed regret and acknowledged his past misjudgments.

The review, initiated by CEO Mark Suzman, aims to evaluate the foundation's historical interactions with Epstein and scrutinize current policies for philanthropic partnerships. The findings are expected to be updated to the board this summer.
