Justice Served: Toronto Court Sentences Man for Student's Murder

A Toronto court has sentenced Richard Edwin to life imprisonment for the murder of Indian student Kartik Vasudev. The court rejected Edwin's plea of not being criminally responsible due to a mental disorder.

The Superior Court, presided over by Justice Jane Kelly, found Edwin guilty of first-degree murder for the killings of Vasudev and another stranger in April 2022.

Vasudev's grieving family, who had been pursuing justice for four years, expressed relief at the verdict, despite previous bureaucratic challenges during the transportation of his body back to India.
