In a significant step towards strengthening India's food entrepreneurship ecosystem, the Department of Food Business Management at the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, Thanjavur (NIFTEM-T), successfully conducted a two-day Food Business Start-up Enabler Programme 2.0 on April 16–17, 2026.
The intensive programme brought together aspiring entrepreneurs, students, and early-stage founders from across the country, providing a structured platform to develop the skills and knowledge required to build and scale successful food businesses in an increasingly competitive and innovation-driven market.

With India's food processing sector projected to grow rapidly—driven by rising consumption, exports, and government initiatives such as PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME)—the programme aimed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world entrepreneurial requirements.
A total of 82 participants attended the programme, representing diverse backgrounds including budding entrepreneurs, professionals exploring ventures in food processing, and students seeking to enter the start-up ecosystem.
