Witness in Housing Scam Brutally Attacked in Broad Daylight
Colonel (retd) Surendra Pal Singh, a crucial witness in a multi-crore housing scam, was viciously attacked during his morning walk. The assailants allegedly targeted him to intimidate or silence his testimony regarding embezzlement in the Sainik Sahkari Awas Samiti. Police have registered a case against five suspects.

Colonel (retired) Surendra Pal Singh, a 70-year-old veteran and key witness in a high-profile housing scam case, was brutally assaulted during a morning walk. This incident occurred in the Defense Colony area early Wednesday morning, police confirmed.
The attackers, reportedly traveling in a white car, intercepted Singh around 6 am. They attempted to strangle him with a scarf and assaulted him with a hammer on his head, face, and legs. The assailants fled, leaving Singh injured and in need of medical care at the district hospital.
Singh, a witness in multiple cases linked to significant financial embezzlement within the Sainik Sahkari Awas Samiti, indicated the attack was intended to mute his testimony. Despite previous death threats, Singh remains willing to testify. The police have filed charges against five people, with investigations ongoing to ascertain connections between the attack and the fraud probe.
