The Bombay High Court has refused bail for retired DRDO scientist Pradeep Kurulkar, arrested in May 2023 for allegedly sharing sensitive information with a suspected Pakistani intelligence operative.
Justice S G Dige highlighted the risk that Kurulkar could influence witnesses, emphasizing that he continued intimate exchanges with the alleged operative for over a year.
The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad, which detained Kurulkar, has uncovered what it calls 'explosive' communications that may involve strategic defense details, suspecting a compromised relationship cultivated with the operative.
