In a move to restore calm in the geopolitically critical Strait of Hormuz, China is urging all involved parties to work collectively towards stability. On Thursday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning emphasized the importance of diplomatic engagement over military actions.
Mao criticized US and Israeli military interventions against Iran as the root causes of recent disruptions in the region. She asserted that escalating the conflict benefits no one and advocated for an early ceasefire and peace talks.
This call for diplomacy comes amid China's discussions with Pakistan, wherein both nations proposed a five-point plan to ensure the safe passage of navigation and commence peaceful dialogue.
