The Supreme Court ruled on Thursday to nullify the bail granted to businessman Satinder Singh Bhasin in the Grand Venice Mall scam case. The bench, including Justices Sanjay Karol and N K Singh, mandated Bhasin to surrender to jail authorities within a week.
The court noted that Bhasin had breached the bail conditions set in November 2019. Bhasin is permitted to apply for regular bail after twelve months, contingent upon adherence to insolvency proceedings directives.
Bhasin's passport remains withheld, and Rs 50 crore plus interest, deposited during bail, is forfeited. Portions of this amount will be allocated to the National Legal Services Authority and IBC proceedings.
