Emirates' Entry Ban Sparks Regional Travel Rouser
Emirates has prohibited Iranian nationals from entering or transiting the UAE, while Flydubai allows those with a UAE Golden Visa to transit. This move follows escalating tensions between Iran and Gulf states, impacting travel policies and diplomatic relations within the region.
In a significant travel policy update, Dubai-based airline Emirates announced an entry ban on Iranian nationals to the UAE, including transit restrictions, according to its website on Wednesday.
Contrastingly, Flydubai, another UAE carrier, stated that Iranian nationals holding a UAE 'Golden Visa' are exempt from this ban, allowing them to enter and transit through the country.
This development comes amidst increasing diplomatic tensions between Iran and Gulf states, further complicating regional travel dynamics and international relations.
