Karnataka's Plan to Tackle Human-Elephant Conflict

In response to the rising human-elephant conflict in Bengaluru South, Karnataka's Forest Minister, Eshwar Khandre, announced strategic initiatives to fortify barriers and deploy dedicated task forces.

During the Karnataka Legislative Council's Question Hour, Khandre attributed the surge in incidents to the increased elephant population and disrupted traditional corridors, significantly affecting forest-fringe areas with frequent crop raids.

The government has already constructed an extensive network of railway barricades and sanctioned additional funds for further development, emphasizing prompt response teams and a commitment to infrastructure improvements.
