The Supreme Court of India has quashed charges against popular YouTuber Elvish Yadav in a case involving alleged usage of snake venom at a party in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Yadav expressed relief and vindication, emphasizing his enduring faith in the judicial system despite the ordeal that lasted nearly two-and-a-half years.
In November 2023, Yadav, along with five others, was named in an FIR following allegations of using snake venom as a recreational drug. Arrested in March 2024, Yadav has consistently denied any wrongdoing. The bench dismissed the case because the Wildlife (Protection) Act complaint was not filed by an authorized individual.
Despite his victory, Yadav questioned who would compensate for the harassment and stigma his family suffered during the case. Thanking his family and supporters, Yadav said he plans to focus on happiness moving forward, optimistic that justice has finally prevailed.
