The group, Citizens for Fraternity (CFF), highlighted open threats toward the Muslim community in a letter, calling for stringent police action.
The unrest follows the unfortunate death of 26-year-old Tarun during Holi celebrations, which, despite initial police intervention, has escalated into a communal issue. Groups have allegedly visited the area to incite disturbances, and there are threats to disrupt Eid prayers as reprisals.
High-profile signatories, including former Delhi lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung, emphasized the urgency of police vigilance to prevent further escalation and deter potential violence. As tensions remain high, authorities have bolstered security in Uttam Nagar to ensure peace ahead of the upcoming Eid celebrations.
